Life just got real yesterday. Really real.

About a month ago, Aaron and I made a crazy decision. With everything going on in the world, and understanding we would be working remotely for the remainder of the year, we decided to take a leap of faith. Aaron called our realtors, Shannon and Lester, and in just a few days our house was on the market.

That triggered the most chaotic month of our lives. Prepping the house for selling, 2 full days of showing back to back, all while balancing a full workload was tough. But in just 2 days, we sold our house and started packing! What a blessing to sell our house so quickly - I’m not sure how long we could have endured showing the house with 2 dogs.

Now, you may have noticed no mention of buying a house. That would be correct. We already have one - on wheels! I feel like every time I talk about our RV, I preface it with, “I promise we’re not rednecks!” But I knew people would think we’re crazy for deciding to live in our travel trailer full time. Honestly, I was surprised at the amount of support we got from our friends and family. The common response was, “Well, if there was ever a time to do it, it’d be now!” Our thoughts exactly.

And so began the process of packing up our house. Packing is already no easy task, but on top of that we had to decide what could come with us on the road, and what was going into storage. We decided to use POD storage because we had no idea where we would end up at the end of all our travels. Poor Aaron got to hear me complain constantly about packing - I was ready to spend ALL the monies on someone else packing for us - but we managed to cram our life into 2 storage PODs just in the nick of time.

Yesterday, we officially closed the sale of first home as a married couple. Honestly, with how quickly everything happened, it feels so surreal. And although there were so many memories made in that home - parties, showers, sleepovers, puppies, some tears and LOTS of fun - I am so excited for the adventures to come! I learned from moving so much in my childhood that your family is your home, and where you live is just your house (or travel trailer in our case). So, let’s take our home on the road!

This is going to be a once in a lifetime experience, and I wanted to capture every moment of it. I am by no means a writer or photographer, and I can’t promise high quality blog posts and content. But more than anything, I would love to share the experiences our little family of four on the road. Check out the blog for reviews of the cities we visit, the places we stay, things we do, and of course what and where we eat! I have also created an Instagram so you can follow us real time on our journey.

For those of you who know me, you know I love me a good pun. So follow along as we live the next few months of our lives… Blain and Simple!
